- Great Boot Review by Don
This is a very comfortable boot. It runs very true to size tho so if there's a question I'd go a half size larger if possible. I thought it'd take a bit to break them in but they were very comfortable the first time I put them on. The width was supposed to be EEE but they are a bit narrow and difficult to get into. I'm hoping as they wear they will get bit easier. The zipper worries me. No problems yet but it doesn't strike me as being very solid. Time will tell. (Posted on 4/25/14)
- Great boots for comfort and longevity Review by Anon
I am a Paramedic in Chicago, Illinois so my demand of these boots was quite high. I had seen a couple CPD officers with them and they said they performed great. I ordered these and have been quite happy every since. The scuffs are polishable and they say comfortable for a long time. I have had mine for 2 solid full time years and am just now looking to replace due to a bend in one of the zipper links form a knock around earlier in the week. (Posted on 11/22/13)
- Security Review by Alan
Love Magnum boots but these boots only lasted 6 months before the outer leather started to separate from the base. (Wet feet in the rain). With the same wear and tear as all the previous Magnum boots. The zippers on the sides made it easy to take off the boots but you still had to unlace them to get them back on. As far as comfort: I walked 40 hours a feet about 8 miles a day and the comfort never went away. (Posted on 1/16/13)
- Ground Pounder Review by John
I have owned two pairs of the model 5870 for one year now. These boots have held up exceptionally well. Wearing one set of boots every other day, up to 12 hours a day. They show very little signs of wear. That wear is located between the base of the laces and toe box area. The crease that forms at the flex point. With routine cleaning and polishing per Magnum instructions. These boots are in outstanding condition. The material part of the boots is in excellent condition and without any unraveling or piling of the material.
All seams are intact and the side zippers look without wear and function perfectly. The soles have only slight wear on the posterior margins of the heels.
Being a Registered Nurse who works in a very busy Surgical Recovery Room, these boots have held up exceptionally well. My feet stay comfortable even after a long day. I do change my socks a few times a day. Merino wools sock at that. Just a personal thing. It enhances the foot comfort. That model 5870 works as advertised. These boots also double as my motorcycle riding boots. Hence the need for a waterproof boot as well. Yes, I ride in all weather. Rain included. My feet stay dry and warm. Even as the temps approach freezing.
The 5870 is a very well thought out and engineered professional style boot. The price is right, too. Search for the right dealer to find an excellent price and free shipping, too.
My next pair will be the model 5854 Spider 8.1 Side zipper boot. Currently on order. Initial report to follow. (Posted on 1/16/13)
- COMFORTABLE AND RUGGED Review by Jared
I work for one of the busiest departments in the county, averaging just over 6300 calls for service a year out of three stations. I bought the Stealth Force under recommendation from a friend of mine. After 4 months of hard use, these boots have stood up well. I am very hard on equipment and push it to its limits. I recently wore these boots on a fire where I was beside the pump panel for 6 hours. Not once did my feet get wet. I am constantly in water and have not yet had a problem with the waterproof layer failing. They are comfortable enough for everyday wear, but rugged enough to put up with the demands of a busy firefighter. I have had some problems however. The first issue that I ran into is that the insoles wore out very quickly, within three months. I replaced them with some from the local drugstore, and have not had an issue since. Second, I found that the stitching inside the boots at the point where the heel/ankle joins the shaft has come apart. I believe this is partially due to the constant don/doff cycles that I put these boots through while on shift. The third and final issue I have had is that the outsole has started to separate from the boot at a few points. All these are minor issues, and could be due to how hard I am on my equipment. These boots have not yet let me down and do live up to the Magnum brand.

- LOVE THEM BUUUUUT..... Review by Mike
I am a heavy-duty tow truck driver. My day consists of climbing in and out of trucks under them and all around them. I am in mud, sand, and rain all the time pulling heavy cables and hooking up trucks. I have had several pairs of the Magnum Stealth Force 8.0 SZ WPi boots and loved them. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn, they give good ankle support, and stay dry in heavy rains and high water. They are as close as you could to wearing sneakers. The zipper sides make putting the boots on and off a breeze especially in the middle of the night when you're half asleep and have to go. The only problem I have ever had with every pair of Magnum boots I have owned is the mesh on the outer side of the boots has split at the seem were its sewn to the leather after about 3 or 4 months of having them. Besides that I can't find a bad thing to say about them. I turned a co-worker of mine on to Magnum boots and he has loved them as well. I started with a size 12 and then tried the 12 wide and they still did the same thing. These boots are great if they are always on your feet and you're on your feet for hours on end. I don't think I ever said "I can't wait to get these boots off my feet." (Posted on 1/16/13)
- First Impressions Review by Will
First of all, it took a while to get these boots. I'll just state that some people really aren't cut out to work in retail. Conversely, customer service (Karen) at Magnum has been top notch!
Right out of the box, I noticed that the materials used and the construction of these boots look to be very good. There is ample padding throughout the boot. The soles are very comfortable and seem to have good gripping qualities on pavement.
Initially, I would only change one thing. I like the large zipper pull, but the "keeper" strap is rather narrow, and short. Maybe the strap should be the same width as the ergonomic pull. This would also allow for larger "hook & loop" patches. The strap would also benefit being longer, in order to fit over the pull and lay flat on the "hook" patch.
I purchased these to be used as waterproof motorcycle boots. I haven't had the opportunity to check their ability to shed water, but I can attest that they are very comfortable.
In closing, my Stealth Force 8.0 SZ WPi boots have performed well, both on and off the bike. Hopefully, they will perform equally as well as I rack up the miles. (Posted on 1/16/13)
- Good To The Last Zip Review by John
I got my boots in February last year as a replacement set for another pair of boots that were splitting.
I wear them for everything from work to EMS calls to even going out, they're that comfortable.
The boots have survived 2 Illinois winters only to be failed recently by a zipper that came apart. I never had a problem with my feet getting wet while wearing these boots with the only "waterproofing" done is an occasional coat of polish.
The only thing that would make these boots completely perfect would be a better set of zippers and a little stronger velcro on the top strap.
These boots are well worth the price (Posted on 1/16/13)
- Just picked up my 3rd pair. Review by Jean-Paul Trudeau
As in the title I just purchased the 3rd pair tonight. I am neither in law enforcement or any kind of emergency services. I do walk on concrete floors all day long. This line of boots, is hands down the best, period. They are the lightest, most comfortable boots I have owned. 10 hours a days, 40 hours a week, no stinkfoot either. I would wear these all day every day if needed.
My one and only complaint is that you still havent figured out how to get past the lace keeper made from a piece of fabric at the midpoint of the laces, we cant get a d-ring riveted in there or something?
Dont get me wrong this minor annoyance will not prevent me from buying a 4th pair! But 3 pairs and still no fix, means only 4 stars. Keep up the great work! (Posted on 9/23/12)
